Most iPhones and Android phones from the last few years support eSIM. Once you find your model, just make sure the phone isn't carrier-locked and you're ready to install.

- iPhones sold in mainland China don't support eSIMs, and only some iPhone models sold in Hong Kong and Macao support eSIMs. If you bought an iPhone in any of these countries, check if your iPhone is eSIM-compatible before installing an eSIM app.
- eSIM iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max are not compatible with physical SIM cards in the USA.
- eSIM iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max are SIM-only in Mainland China, and eSIM-only in the following destinations: Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and USA.
- iPhone Air is Apple’s first globally eSIM-only iPhone. It’s also eSIM-compatible in China, making it the first eSIM iPhone available in China.

How to check if your device is carrier-locked
How do I know if my iPhone is carrier-locked?
You can check this directly in your iPhone settings:
- Go to Settings
- Tap General > About
- Scroll down to "Carrier Lock" or "Network Provider Lock"
- If your iPhone is locked, you will see the name of your carrier
- If your iPhone is unlocked, you will see "No SIM restrictions"
How do I unlock my iPhone?
The safest way is to contact your carrier and request an unlock. Carriers have different policies — you may need to complete your contract term or pay off any outstanding balance before they will unlock it.
Can't find your model?
Not listed? Dial *#06# on your phone: an EID number means it supports eSIM. If you’re still unsure, please confirm with the manufacturer.
1. Dial *#06# and press the call
2. In case your device is eSIM compatible, you should be able to view your device’s eSIM unique identification number (EID).
